Deputy CM Eknath Shinde inaugurates CREDAI MCHI Thane’s 22nd Property Expo

The 22nd Property and Home Finance Expo, organized by CREDAI MCHI Thane, kicked off on February 7, 2025, at Highland Gardens, Thane West, under the them"Making Dream Homes a Reality."
The four-day event, running until February 10, was inaugurated by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The Expo showcases over 100 real estate projects and brings together more than 80 top brands, attracting an expected 25,000 plus visitors.
In his address, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde highlighted Thane transformation into the city of choice for homebuyers. He stressed how the city ongoing infrastructure projects improve connectivity, making it an attractive destination for potential homeowners. Reflecting on the Expos evolution, Shinde said that he has attended every edition, witnessing Thane growth mirrored in the Expo's progress.
Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik also praised the Expo, noting that it provides numerous options for homebuyers looking for a place in Thane, one of the top choices within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
CREDAI MCHI Thane President Jitendra Mehta remarked on Thane's evolution, pointing out that the Expo offers a wide variety of homes suited to all needs and budgets. He emphasised CREDAI MCHI Thane's role in stabilising the property market, ensuring Thane remains a favoured choice for both investors and end-users.
CREDAI MCHI former President Ajay Ashar spoke on the significant role infrastructure plays in Thane's real estate growth. CREDAI MCHI President Dominic Romell mentioned how Thane is driving growth in the region real estate market, offering a diverse range of properties.
Surajit Tripathy, DGM Business Operations at State Bank of India (SBI), discussed SBI contribution to helping homebuyers turn their dreams into reality through home loans. Saurabh Rao, Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation, shared updates on ongoing projects set to impact Thane residents quality of life positively.
Ashok Shingare, District Collector of Thane, and Ashwin Mudgal, Assistant Commissioner at MMRDA, were also present at the inauguration.
A special initiative, the Laadki Bahen (Beloved Sister) programme, was introduced for female property buyers. Women attending the Expo can now select and purchase properties by paying 20% of the cost upfront, gaining access to exclusive discounts during the event. CREDAI MCHI Thane hopes that this initiative will encourage more women to fulfill their dream of owning a home.
In a related development, CREDAI MCHI Thane President Jitendra Mehta welcomed the Reserve Bank of India decision to cut the benchmark repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25%.
Mehta described the rate cut as a significant relief for homebuyers and developers, especially in the face of rising EMIs. He expressed optimism that the reduced loan costs would make homes more affordable and encourage more homebuyers, particularly in the affordable and mid-income housing segments, to make purchases in Thane.
Mehta highlighted the importance of a stable monetary policy to sustain the positive momentum in Thane's real estate sector,urging banks and Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) to pass on the full benefits of the rate cut to consumers.
