Thane’s 16 real estate teams come together to bond over cricket during 10 th Sports Day

THANE, 15 MARCH 2024: Cricket is a sport that binds India together; and in Thane, it held true as well. CREDAI MCHI Thane organised its 10th Sports Day on 13 March 2024 at ‘The Pitchers’, Yeoor, Thane. The day saw ‘Under Arm Turf Cricket Tournament’, with 16 teams participating, of which 13 teams were from members of CREDAI MCHI Thane, while three were from the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), namely TDO, PWD and Fire Brigade.
Jitendra Mehta, President, CREDAI MCHI Thane said that on the 10th Sports Day, he was pleased to see cricket being the common link that bound stakeholders in Thane’s development and growth to come together and play 27 matches across 4 groups. “Sports is about remaining fit; CREDAI MCHI Thane is pleased to provide the platform that opens up opportunities to compete and win,” he said.
After 26 matched, the competition saw two teams - PWD Thane and Siddhi Stallions – battle it out for the winning trophy. Siddhi Stallions won the final – and the tournament – for the third consecutive time. “The winning team was congratulated by all present; as the event was not just about winning and losing, but about creating team spirit and also about playing together as a team,” said Jitendra Mehta. He termed the day long event as a ‘huge success’, pointing out that it went a long way in creating fellowship among members of CREDAI MCHI Thane.
“As an industry body, we look beyond just our members – all stakeholders are important,” he said, adding that he hoped the ‘spirit of the game’ would continue over the years, and CREDAI MCHI Thane would remain the close-knot organisation, which has been over the years.
